CAFÉ+ selected for Erasmus+ funding
CAFÉ+ is selected for co-funding under the Erasmus+ call for European Policy Experimentation. The project starts in January 2027.
CAFÉ+ — Transforming Informal Language Cafés into Validated Upskilling Pathways — has been selected for co-funding under the 2026 Erasmus+ call for European Policy Experimentation (Key Action 3, ERASMUS-EDU-2026-POL-EXP). The project number is 101339880.
Seven organisations from Austria, Czechia, Finland, Greece, Romania and Spain will work together for three years, from January 2027 to December 2029. ACCELERAS KG in Vienna coordinates the project.
What CAFÉ+ will do
Many of the adults who would benefit most from learning already come every week to Language Cafés, libraries and integration centres. CAFÉ+ will test how these trusted places can become Skills Cafés, where adults build future skills while improving the local language, earn recognised micro-credentials and find a way into training or work.
- Map trusted learning places in six countries and listen to 200+ Language Café participants
- Develop the CF10 future skills framework, a toolkit of 30+ conversation-based activities, and training for facilitators and 70 Peer Ambassadors
- Run Skills Café pilots with 420+ adults at 31 sites and compare the outcomes with standard Language Cafés
- Turn the findings into policy recommendations and a roll-out plan, together with employment services, employers and policymakers
What comes next
The project starts in January 2027. News about the first steps will be published here.
